thinking of the sea
maine
i am thinking of your sea
my sea
my home.
i am thinking of
the days spent raking
in the dirt, removing dead leaves and twigs
winter's cast-offs
straining for a breath
of a crocus
a daffodil, a forget-me-not.
a forget me not sea
endless blue floating in front of my eyes,
pushing, willing me to remember.
i will not let you go when
i am thinking of other matters
urgent
insistent
distracted by the quick flash of messages
demanding a response.
for what could be more important
weighty
serious
than that faithfulness
you offer?
the friendship you lay before me
with no demands?
i am thinking i am home
set free in this vast
rolling
blue
sea.

Very nice, Mignon
Lovely!
For two short years we lived in York Harbor. Although I was homesick at he time, Maine is still my favorite place to return to for seaside vacations.
Go for it cousin. This is great stuff.
